How Does A Family Photo Session Work?
If you’ve never had family photos done before then it can be hard to know exactly what to expect from your first photo session. But at My Little Tribe we’re here to help guide you the whole way. If you’re thinking about booking into a family photo shoot in Melbourne here’s a little taster of what to expect.
You’re first point of call is to get in touch with us and have a little chat about what type of photo session you’re after.
From there, we’ll get together with your whole tribe at our studio in East Brighton. This is a super-relaxed meet-and-greet. We’ll put on coffee and snacks, and you might just be lucky enough to meet our resident puppy Tallo.
We think it’s really important to meet everyone who’s going to be in your family photo shoot, including the kids, to make sure that everyone gets along and your kids are comfortable with us before the shoot.
This is also a great way for us to get to know your family and what you love doing. By getting to know you, we can suggest some great locations or super-fun things that we can capture to make your photo shoot truly special.
At this point we’ll also discuss the different products that we have and which options are best for you. You’ll walk away with a good idea about what the whole photo shoot and final photos will cost so there’s no surprises at the end.
If that’s all sounding great, you choose your dates, book in, and fill out our getting-to-know-you questionnaire. This gives us some insight into your family and what makes you tick so that we can genuinely connect with you.
About a week before your photo shoot we’ll give you a call to confirm. At this point (and any time up to the actual date) it’s also good to let us know if the kids are ill. No one likes having their photos taking when they’re sick, especially kids, and we’d much rather reschedule until your little one is feeling better. After all, we want the best result for you and for us too!
On the day of the shoot we all meet, chat, laugh and take a few (hundred) photos. Each session lasts between anywhere between 1 to 3 hours, which allows for little people needing snacks, nappy changes and hugs.
About two weeks later, we’ll invite you back to our studio to view your images. We like to treat this as a special occasion for you both - you’ll indulge in a night off from the kids… a glass of bubbles and delicious snacks and will have around two hours to go through your images and choose your favourites.
You decide which images you’d like and how you’d like to display them and we’ll work with our seriously talented suppliers to print and package your products.
And 4-6 weeks later you get to unwrap your gorgeous new masterpiece and give it pride of place in your family home.
