Living in Melbourne, there’s so many people running some pretty amazing businesses that it can be hard to keep track. We come across businesses all the time and think “how have we not heard about you already?”
At My Little Tribe, we’ve been pretty fortunate to work with some lovely people doing some truly creative and clever things.
We wanted to share a few of our favourite business so you can make a new discovery of your own.
Oh my gosh! We discovered these clever folks at the Wild Collective in August and we are in love.
Castle and Cubby create delightful cubby houses from recycled wood and other materials. These cubbies are the kind of thing your Dad might have knocked up for you in the backyard one weekend – if your Dad was handy with a saw and drill of course.
We love that they get the kids’ imagination going and allow them to be in charge of their own play. Plus these things look absolutely gorgeous in the backyard too. We photographed soem of their cubby's recently in The Yarra Valley.
So when it comes to kids’ clothes, there’s heaps of stuff out there for little girls. But those little misters sometimes get left out. But Mr Willo are changing this.
Born out of the boys wear “black hole”, they specialise in making quirky, original clothing for fashionable little men.
These pieces are seriously cute and your little one will love them as much as you do.
Disclaimer: Great Dane Furniture is owned by my clever big brother, but I don’t think I’m being biased when I say they have some of the most beautiful Danish furniture and homewares in Australia.
While you might have to have a pretty big money jar for the bigger pieces, the wooden animals by Kay Bojesen are a lovely way to bring Danish design into your home and will be treasured by your little one for years (and years).
Melbourne bohemian – that’s how we’d describe this lovely, eclectic store.
A mix of indoor and outdoor furniture, homewares and kids stuff. The pieces are designed in Melbourne and hand crafted globally. We love The Family Love Tree’s commitment to fair trade and helping communities by providing economic opportunities while continuing local hand made traditions.
Plus their stuff is beautiful. Just try and visit their store and not walk away with something for your #tribelet’s bedroom!
Lulu and Little Lulu are two gorgeous little shops sitting side-by-side on Carlisle Street in Balaclava.
While Lulu offers and eclectic mix of clothing, homewares and lovely things for big kids, next door Little Lulu sells a delightful array of baby and kids clothing, toys and gifts.
Both stores focus on local and independent design and are great places to discover a new brand or designer.
Little Lulu is just the place to head to if you’ve got a baby shower or little one’s birthday coming up as you know you’ll always find something perfect that will be treasured for ages.
Happy Shopping! Love Clare x
